As part of the App Review process, you have to submit a simulator binary package of your iOS app. This article shows you how to create a simulator build of your app to submit to App Review. Please note that this page applies only if you have selected the iOS platform in the platform settings section of the basic app settings page of developers.facebook.com.
Open up the Xcode iOS simulator. In Xcode version 16, this can be found under Xcode > Open Developer Tool > Simulator.
Drag and drop your iOS .app file into the iOS simulator to ensure that it installs correctly.
Open the app in the simulator to verify that the manual testing instructions that you’ll supply for app review will work.
During app review, you will see a section that looks like this:
Clicking into that section will show a component like this:
Clicking on the “Upload a Simulator Build File” button will show a component like this:
This is where you can upload your iOS .app file that was tested in step 1. Please note that the file extension must be .app.
We delete the simulator build three weeks after your build has been reviewed.
